About

Hospital Hospitality House of Southwest Michigan

A family relaxing at the House.

The Hospital Hospitality House of Southwest Michigan was established in 1985 as a vision of the Junior League of Kalamazoo in collaboration with Borgess Medical Center and Bronson Methodist Hospital.

Mission Statement:
We give comfort, care, and lodging to those in need of a home-like environment while in Kalamazoo for medical treatment. Our House is a nonprofit organization supported solely by contributions.

The Hospital Hospitality House of Southwest Michigan is a proud member of the National Association of Hospital Hospitality Houses.

The Board Members and Staff of the Hospital Hospitality House of Southwest Michigan are caring compassionate people.

In a world that cries out for more caring, support, and concern, it is comforting to know that in Kalamazoo there is a place that reaches out to anxious people. We help our guests carry their heavy loads of fear and uncertainty.

The House is more than just a refuge; it is a place of solace, compassion, and care. We offer our guests, who may feel isolated and lonely, the companionship they need during a difficult time.

We serve as emotional support and relief from the financial burden of having to pay for lodging, for approximately 1000 guests per year. Our guests have come from all 50 states in the United States and many foreign countries.

The House is a non-profit organization supported by contributions from individuals, churches, civic groups, businesses, Borgess Medical Center and Bronson Methodist Hospital. No one will be discriminated against on the basis of race, sex, religion or national origin.
